Future Works

Partners in Public Design worked with the RK Mellon Foundation and the Community Foundation of the Alleghenies to plan a higher education facility, Future Works, in downtown Johnstown, Pennsylvania.  Throughout 2022, PPD led a stakeholder group of local leaders to define a program and project, select a site and produce a conceptual design and operational plan.  The project is now entering its next phase of implementation with funding pledges from a Pennsylvania State RCAP grant and local philanthropy. The project will bring a new engineering degree in advanced manufacturing into a historic department store building across from the Central Park in Downtown Johnstown.  The daily presence of dozens of college students, faculty and staff will help to enliven local businesses and public spaces.
